Jubilee Days in Hagerstown

The annual celebration, which begins Friday evening and runs through Sunday, will include Go Cart Races, a variety of crafts and all types of fair food; fresh produce and baked goods, a night dance and two bands for musical entertainment; and the traditional Jubilee Days Parade on Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. Following the parade will be Go Cart Grand Prix races. The Wizard Of Oz

Darke County Fair: Starts Friday

Celebrating 154 years of fairs, they will have their “Band Spectacular” on Monday, August 23 at 7:00 p.m., an opportunity for bands to perform routines non-competitively. Greenville Ohio is about 30 miles from most points in Wayne County.

“Creative Writing Presentation” Writing Workshop with award winning author: Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie who is the author of the novels Purple Hibiscus, Half of a Yellow Sun, and a collection of short stories titled The Thing around Your Neck. She has received numerous awards and distinctions, including the Orange Broadband Prize for Fiction and a MacArthur Foundation Fellowship. For Sunday’s presentation Adichie discusses processes involved with creative writing.
