Mummy At The Wayne County Historical Museum

“Where’s Your Mummy?”

Celebrate the Wayne County Historical Museums’ Mummy from 1-4 p.m.,  Saturday, May 21st.

In honor of the 81 years that the  Mummy has resided at the Museum, activities have been planned for the day which include photo ops with baby camels, activity stations, trying on Egyptian clothes, henna tattoos, making Egyptian headbands, and much more!

Children will learn about pyramids, Egyptian royalty and other fun history!  A great time with a very old friend—Saturday from 1-4.

Quilt Show: May 20-22

The Kuhlman center is hosting a quilt show this weekend which is open to the public.  Come witness the wonderful talents of people in Wayne County who spend long hours creating these pieces of art.   For more information contact the Kuhlman Center at the Wayne County 4H Fairgrounds.

2011 Relay For Life of Wayne County

May 21 – 22, 2011 starting at 9:00 AM at the Wayne County 4H Fairgrounds.  According to the Relay For Life website there are 63 teams and 1,057 participants in this annual event and over $43,000 raised so far to support the cause of the American Cancer Society.  Come out and support the teams.

Dallas Brass

Saturday, May 21, 8:00 p.m.  Richmond Community Schools and Civic Hall Associates presents: Dallas Brass. Founded in 1983 by Michael Levine, the Dallas Brass has become one of America’s foremost musical ensembles.

Dallas Brass At Civic Hall Performing Arts

The Dallas Brass show, American Musical Journey, incorporates a full complement of brass and percussion for a musical travelogue through American history, from the time of George Washington to the present day. The program’s music has been selected from the masters: Copland, Bernstein, Gershwin, Berlin, Sousa; from bands like the Tijuana Brass and Chicago; and styles from Dixieland, swing, Broadway, folk, patriotic, pop, and even hip-hop!.  The Dallas Brass’s primary mission includes connecting with young musicians. Clinics are held in conjunction with almost every concert and band students are invited to join the Dallas Brass onstage for a selection on the evening performance.
