  • Richmond Parks and Recreation Movie Series
July 5, 2010

(Saturday) July 10th is the first in a series of free movies which will once again be brought to the community by the Richmond Parks and Recreation Department.

This summer marks the 14th year that Parks and Recreation has offered movies at Middlefork Reservoir. If you have not had this experience yet, don’t miss it this summer.  The evening begins by parking your car at the Reservoir lots and either hopping on a hayride or walking to the back of the field where the movie is shown.  Bring your own snacks, blanket and chairs–there will also be concessions at each movie.  There are games for the kids at 8:30 p.m. and the movies begin at dusk.

“Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs”

Is the first outdoor movie playing this (Saturday). At 7:30, prior to the movie, you can enjoy a spaghetti dinner for only 5.00/person–a fundraiser sponsored by Fazoli’s.  The meal will include spaghetti, salad and a dessert, and proceeds from the dinner will go to the Art in the Park program.  Tickets can be purchased at the Park Office located at Glen Miller Park.

Summer Schedule for Outdoor Movie Series

All ages are invited and all the movies will be free.  The rest of the schedule for the outdoor movie series is as follows:

The Spy Next Door:  Friday July 16               Planet 51: Friday July 23

Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory: July 30

Movies begin at Dusk, games begin at 8:30 p.m. every Friday in July.

  1. Just got back from movie at the Reservoir… It was a very nice event with games for kids like soccer, ball toss and others ..kids seemed to really enjoy themselves. Refreshments were available at very reasonable prices and it was a cool crisp and clear night. We really enjoyed ourselves. Thanks to the Parks Department for putting this together.

  2. Thanks KPass. We enjoy providing the movies to the community! Hope you join us again. I personally cannot wait for Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory- we are going to have some fun candy-themed games and give away some great prizes that night! YUM 🙂
