In Wayne County, Richmond has the largest population and jobs base.  We’ve found that many people are searching for jobs online, and, when you search in Google, several different places pop up claiming to help with that search.

It can be confusing to know the best places to find out about job openings in smaller areas like ours.

The list below will help you get started on the right foot, even if you are searching for job openings anywhere in the Wayne County area.

Start Here:

Find exhaustive links to job databases and employers in the Wayne County area at Waynet.  All of the major employers in our area are listed there for easy access to their job announcements.

General Sites:

Places like Monster.com and Jobs.net are examples of things you will find in the search engines, but that might not be too helpful if Richmond – Wayne County employers aren’t using those sites to post job openings.

Still, it is good to know where to find direct links to any openings they might have listed, just in case…

  • TopUSAJobs – Not sure where they pull the data, but places like Cracker Barrel top the list.
  • Jobs.net – Current listings for Richmond, Wayne County, and nearby Ohio.
  • Monster.com – Really surprising number of mid-level, quality jobs.  Probably the best quality listings of the bunch.  There seem to be some fairly quality jobs in Richmond and surrounding open right now for qualified people.

Get In The Game

Our communities in Wayne County are like many others in this economy.  Too many people fighting for too many jobs.  But there is a worse scenario:  not being in the fight at all.

Don’t sell yourself short.  Though there may appear to be a large pool of applications for a particular job you want to go for, that doesn’t mean they are all as good or qualified as you.

Selling yourself and your abilities well has never been more important than when the market is this way.

Still, we’re seeing a lot more job openings now than this time last year, if the above resources are any indication.

Dust off that resume and get back in the hunt if you’ve been waiting for signs of improvement.  They are out there and the time is now to land yourself a job or move up to something more reflective of your experience and training.
