Enjoying Oktoberfest 2011

Oktoberfest 2011 In The Depot District

This year’s Octoberfest did not disappoint as it was bigger and better than last year!  There was something for everyone from live music, delicious foods of all kinds, face painting, fresh baked goods, German foods cheesecake….and so much more!

The crowd gathered as the tricycle races began with teams competing for over 150.00 worth of gift  certificates from area merchants.  (see video below)  After several “heats” the overall champions of the day were the Johnson Boys team.

Two stages of live music played throughout the day, one in front of Steve Terzini’s Little Shebas and another stage in the beer garden by Joe’s Pizza.  (See more videos of live music at our Go Wayne County youtube site).

Kids enjoyed the bouncers throughout the fest as well as yummy soft ice cream and cotton candy- there were even hot apple dumplings.

The "Johnson Boys" team congratulate each other on winning the Tricycle Race

If you missed Oktoberfest this year

– no worries it will be back next year at the same time.  It gets better every year, thanks to all the sponsors and people who help organize this event.
