This past weekend was a nice weekend to go to The Williamsburg Community Days. It was kicked off on Friday evening with a miniature pony pull ran by Mark Stamper. He was pleased with the turnout however he would like to see more ponies in next year’s event.
There was an American Indian Reenactment which a lot of people were interested in watching. They actually cooked their food and camped out overnight.
There were also three generations of the Keiser family with their ponies at the pull—Melvin, Todd, Anthony and Trevor Keiser.
Of course there was plenty to eat including funnel cakes, and the Rollin Mills was there serving Hot Dogs, Roasted Corn on the cob and Mary’s (Mary Mills) special made Coney sauce, along with other food vendors like Pete’s Corner Café (located in the Depot District in Richmond Indiana) who was cooking up some barbeque.
Tractors were on display which had been part of the parade that kicked off after the all-you-can-eat breakfast sponsored by the community center.
There were many entries in the parade including vintage cars, a carriage, and the fire department. The day ended with a tractor pull. The event ran from Friday to Saturday at 6:00 p.m. Feedback from the Williamsburg community was positive and all enjoyed the event, and would like to see it grow and expand for next year.
