First in the Outdoor Concert Series:

Outdoor Concert

Roosevelt Hill in Glen Miller Park, this Friday, August 6th will be the first of four free concerts at Roosevelt Hill, in Glen Miller Park. To start off the series Parrots of the Caribbean will play from 8:00- 10:00 p.m. Friday.  Their music is a tribute to Jimmy Buffet.  For full story on the Concert Series go to GoWayneCounty.com.

Area Fairs & Community Celebrations:

Preble County Fair, Jul 31 – Aug 7, 2010

In Eaton Ohio,  shows and exhibits including photography, baked goods,and a pee wee show.. Take 70 east to Eaton exit (about 9.8 miles) take 35 to Eaton and follow the signs.

Fayette County Free Fair

Aug 1 – 7 2010, Connersville Indiana (map).  This fair offers free parking and entry, rides, games, exhibits etc. Located at Roberts Park and 4H fairgrounds off North Park Road. Take US 40 East to Connersville exit before entering Cambridge City-turn left.

Band Practice

Indiana State Fair : State Fair Band Days

Friday August 6 –all day event

Bands from cities across Indiana will compete for the winning spot at the annual Band Days competition including several bands from Wayne County including Lincoln, Hagerstown, Centerville, and Richmond High School. Morning show begins at 9:00 a.m., with finalists coming back to finish at the evening performance. Always a great show for those who love marching band competitions

Williamsburg Community Days, August 6-7 2010

Williamsburg Indiana Community Center (map), August 6th & 7th.   one block North of US 35 on Centerville Rd North. Events will kick off with a Pony Pull at 6:00 p.m on Friday. The events on Saturday will begin at 9:00 a.m. The Lions club is also having a car show, plus many more fun activities.

Flea Market: Saturday August 7th

A new monthly event at the Depot District.  Sponsored by Tossed and Found every second Saturday of the month from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.  $10.00 per space.  Located under the overpass (in the shade). All proceeds from space goes to support the non-profit.  To reserve a space call Lori at Tossed & Found at the Railroad Store: 966-5119.

Western Wayne Senior Center/Pitch In

Monthly Pitch-in Friday Aug 6th, 6:00 p.m. Bingo for entertainment. Bring a well filled dish and your own table service and the luck of the Irish to win at Bingo. Always a good time. 478-4579, Lorena Gromer Dir.
