  • Veterans Day with Dannielle
November 11, 2014

Hey whats up you guys?! It’s Dannielle.

photoToday was Veterans Day. Veterans Day is a day where we take time to honor and celebrate the veterans who have fought or died fighting. Everyday we should honor our veterans, but today was set aside for them so we can honor our veterans together. Some schools have Veterans Day Programs like my school. Everyone from the high school, middle school, and fourth through sixth grade from the elementary join in our main gym. There we have our symphonic band play a few songs, and our symphonic choir sing. (If you don’t know what symphonic means; that’s our better band and choir) Our middle school choir also sings, and so does every student from the elementary.

We allow the veterans that live around our school to come and join us during our program. They also get recognized by their names showing up on a screen. We have a guest speaker from the high school, middle school and the elementary. The guest speaker in my grade was Emma Merkamp. She is a very good friend of mine, and I am very proud of her. We end the program by a trumpet player from the symphonic choir playing Taps.

i just want to take the time to thank our veterans for doing something I could never do. Thank you Grandpa who served in the Air Force, and thank you dad who served in the Army. Thank you for protecting me, my family, and our nation.

I know this article is pretty serious, and I’m sorry if you didn’t like it. On a less serious side if you want to watch my new YouTube videos where me and some of my friends filmed the YouTube Whispers Challenge….

Well I guess this is me signing out. I’ll talk to you next week. Goodbye *salutes*
