…A Pedicure at Yellow Kitty Salon.
Last night was such a relaxing experience I am still basking in the afterglow of my pedicure at Yellow Kitty Salon.
Like many people I was hesitant to get my first pedicure. For the same reasons I’ve heard others talk about…not wanting anyone to see my dry crusty feet, feeling like it was a luxury etc.. etc.
But I had my first pedicure last year by Kaitlin Rice at Yellow Kitty and it was the first time in a long time that I actually felt totally relaxed. That is saying a lot since I tend to carry a lot of stress in my body and most of the time feel like my entire muscular system is one tight knot.
What one may not realize is the thorough treatment involved in a pedicure by a professional like Kaitlin Rice. It’s not just about making your feet pretty–which of course I need and enjoy. Kaitlin starts with a warm foot bath, followed by the individual treatment of each nail and toe. My favorite part is the deep massage of each foot and the hot oil and stone treatment. (and I do on occasion accept the glass of wine offered with the treatment–okay most of the time– however other beverages are available).
The atmosphere of the Yellow Kitty Salon –the relaxing fountain on the wall, the earth tone colors and calming music (last night included my favorite piece from “Somewhere in Time”) makes it a total sensory experience.
If you have been putting off doing something for yourself that is healing and refreshing, don’t. I am one of those people who puts things off that would benefit my overall health–but not anymore. I am hooked on my pedicures with Kaitlin. And by the way they are not just for women–a common myth–my uncle Mike is one of Kaitlin’s frequent customers and, like Mike, Kaitlin shared that men have some of the nicest feet–probably because they don’t walk barefoot like we do. (note to men: polish is optional)
Your feet are connected to your total well being as each part of the foot is connected to your body in some way. Take care of your feet and you may improve your total overall health. And besides…you deserve it!
Another relaxing experience offered by Kaitlin is the spa scalp and neck massage treatment. And of course she is available for hair needs as well. (FYI she is very capable with those of us with curly kinky hair which is great!).
