Local veterans and those who wish to visit the traveling wall, The Wall That Heals, will have the opportunity this week from September 22 to September 25, 2016 in the Veteran’s Memorial Park located in Richmond IN.

Traveling all over the country year round, the Wall That Heals is a a half scale replica of the Vietnam War Veteran’s Memorial in DC.  Visiting the Wall is said to be an emotional experience for many.

“We are really excited to be a part of this, shares Denise Retz, Director of Parks and Recreation in Richmond IN.  “The veterans in our area have done a lot to see that all of the efforts made are top notch.”  She goes on to explain that the next time the wall will come through this area will be in five years so, “I hope that people will take the time to see it.”

The last time the wall was in the area was in 2011 and hundreds of Wayne County residents and others from near the area came to pay tribute, and for some it was a time to remember.
