Dean Alan Simms portrays a tribute to Louis Armstrong, one of the greatest musicians & entertainers of all time!
Dean is a trumpeter, bandleader, vocalist, entertainer, and playwright. He started performing at the age of 2, and playing trumpet from the age of 9. He has performed all over the USA and Europe. Former lead trumpeter for the Rock-Roll Hall of Fame Ohio Players, and back up musician band leader for Peabo Bryson, Dean has toured with many famous acts and musicians. His current project Satchmo: the Rebirth of Louis Armstrong is performing all over America.
Dean Alan Simms was inducted into the R&B Music Hall of Fame with the Ohio players in 2013, awarded Male Jazz Artist of the Year by the National Coalition of 100 Black women (Columbus chapter), and given the Ohio Finest Citizen Award by Rep Ross McGregor and the Ohio Speaker of the House William G. Batchelder.
Dean has also won such awards as; Rock-N-Roll Hall of Fame, 2013 R&B Music Hall of Fame, Ohio Male Jazz Artist of the Year, and many more. Band members include Richmond’s own Frank DeVito, along with Albert Jackson, Derrick Turner, Terry Twitty and of course Dean Alan Simms as Satchmo. The Crossroads Band will be opening the show. Food and a cash bar will be available. Tickets are $20 each and can be purchased from any of our non-profit members, at our ticket outlets or right here…online. This will be another GREAT InCONCERT production!
