Established in 1919, the Richmond Day Nursery moved to its present location, 300 North 10th Street, in 1928.

As the third-oldest child care center in Indiana, and one of the 100 oldest institutions in the United States and Canada, the Richmond Day Nursery (RDN) represents a longstanding tradition of service to the families of the community.

Governed by a volunteer board of directors, RDN is a not-for-profit corporation of the State of Indiana.  As a state licensed child care center the facility is subject to inspections by the state of Indiana Family and Social Services Administration, the State Board of Health, and the Indiana Fire Marshall.

RDN’s goal is to provide children with a secure, loving, and enriching home away from home.  RDN strives to provide quality care in the areas of health, nutrition, recreation, and education through hands-on learning experiences.richmond day nursery and pre-school
