Local Couple will Demonstrate and Sell Artwork at the Welcome Center this Saturday

Jack and Doris Phelps, well-known artists from Williamsburg, Indiana, will visit the Old National Road Welcome Center Gift Shop Saturday, December 3, from 1-4 p.m., to demonstrate their arts, create personalized sketches, and sell handmade Christmas Ornaments.

Jack began as a Pen & Ink artist and has branched into etchings and aquatints. He is known for his representations of historical buildings, covered bridges, railroad engines, lighthouses and various scenes from nature.

Jack and his wife, painter and printmaker Doris Phelps, have participated in various art and crafts shows throughout the region.

The Old National Road WelcomeCenter is located at 5701 National Road East, Richmond.

The Gift Shop offers many locally-made items, such as glassware, pottery, soaps and lotions, candles, Amish-made coasters and hot pads, and also items which represent the area.
