Wednesday, February 1, 2017, civil rights activist and organizer of the Women’s March, Linda Sarsour, will be the speaker for Earlham’s convocation at 1:00 p.m. in Goddard Auditorium on the Earlham College campus.
According to the Earham events page, “Linda Sarsour is a working woman, racial justice and civil rights activist, and every Islamophobe’s worst nightmare. Ambitious, outspoken and independent, Sarsour shatters stereotypes of Muslim women while also treasuring her religious and ethnic heritage. Linda has been at the forefront of major civil rights campaigns and co-founder of Muslims for Ferguson. Linda serves as the Executive Director of the Arab American Association of New York and is one of the co-founders of the first Muslim online organizing platform, MPOWER Change.”
Most recently, Linda is known for her organization efforts for the Women’s March in DC.
There will be a reception following for Linda Sarsour. This event is co-Sponsored by the Silber Peace Endowed Lecture Fund.
