In just a little over a week we have gone to a Harvest Festival, a live musical, a town festival and more! Nothing to do in Wayne County? Psshhh…..
Saturday at the Farmer’s Market on 10th and Main we enjoyed the literal fruits and vegetables of local growers labors. The Harvest Festival market offered lovely selections of home baked and grown delicacies from the earth. For the kids, there were games and a bounce house and delicious caramel corn.
Just last weekend we were lucky enough to get tickets to a sold out show at the Richmond Civic Theatre- Mary Poppins. It was wonderful with a lovely flying Mary and a wall climbing and upside down Bert. The children stole the show acting as Jane and Michael, (they were so good one would think they had arrived from England just for this event). The dancers, especially during “Step in Time” were fabulously energetic. It was a wonderful show!
Also last weekend we attended Canal Days in Centerville with yummy foods, activities and a car show. A two day event, the next morning a pancake breakfast offered by the scouts started the day of activities. Local “celebrities” were given a turn at the dunk tank which was a favorite activity for the kids. And there were antique sales, yard sales and activities at the local library.
This past weekend also offered a visit from the Coonhounds at the fairgrounds, with various judged competitions for spectators to enjoy.
Stay tuned to see what is coming up in Wayne County Indiana in the days and weeks to come. Never a dull moment in our neck of the woods! Also check out our GoWayneCounty.com calendar for more events.
