The Richmond Parks and Recreation department, Richmond IN, is proud to bring to the community each year a wonderful family friendly series “Movies in the Glen”, on Roosevelt Hill in Glen Miller Park.
Remember the days of outdoor movies at the drive-in? This is even better! Bring your lawn chairs, blankets and snacks for a FREE night at the movies under the stars.
Starting on August 4, “School of Rock” featuring Jack Black and many talented young actors, will have your family and friends in stitches.
Next up, August 12, “Monster Trucks”, about a young man from a small town who befriends an other-worldly creature that feeds on oil….what? Yes that’s right. You won’t want to miss this one!
On August 18, a family favorite “Beauty and the Beast” will be showing on the hill at dusk. Hum or sing along to the soundtrack…you know you want to.
The big finale will be on August 26 with Star Wars: The Force Awakens! “In this thrilling continuation of the epic space opera, ex-stormtrooper Finn, scrappy desert dweller Rey, and droid companion BB-8 get caught up in a galactic war when they come across a map containing the whereabouts of the vanished Luke Skywalker.” Bring your own light sabers… or pretend with the saber sound that we all know and love.
Concessions will be available on the hill at each showing, and again this is FREE to the public. Activities will begin at 8:30 p.m. with the movies playing at dusk.
The Parks Department movie series is sponsored this year by the Richmond Baking Company of Richmond IN. Be sure to get out under the stars in August. Thanks to the Parks Department for offering great programs all summer long!
