  • Local Artisans Will Give Demonstrations and Sell Artwork at Welcome Center

artisian show richmond indianaIn an effort to promote area artisans and local shopping during the holiday season, the Old National Road Welcome Center Gift Shop will host two artisans on Saturday, December 10, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Julie Farmer King from Economy will demonstrate and show her colorful and lively mixed media pieces.  Debbie Doughterty from Richmond will demonstrate and display her jewelry designs in sterling silver and natural stones, and also other hand-crafted fashion items, such as scarves.  Both artists will offer many of their works for sale.

Other locally-made items and giftware which represents the area will also be offered for sale, such as Warm Glow Candles,  Scot Shafer Stoneware Pottery, Tedco Toys, candy from Olympian Candy, Abbott’s Candy and Ghyslain, Amish-made coasters and hot pads, lotions and soaps, hand-blown glass, and much more.

The Gift Shop is located in the Wayne County Convention & Tourism’s Welcome Center at 5701 National Road East, Richmond.  The Gifts Shop is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
