  • Important Information for 911 Escort Riders Coming To Richmond IN
April 5, 2011

Information from the Project911Indianapolis.org website:

Indiana War Memorial, Indianapolis

You can visit GoWayneCounty.com for more information on this event as well as going to the official website listed above.

“All riders should enter Richmond from the North, on SR 27. (as indicated by the ORANGE arrow on the map below) The primary staging areas for bikers are designated in the GREEN shaded areas. The BLUE shaded areas are for public parking only, but will be used if all other lots are full. There will be traffic control officers guiding you to the staging areas. The Welcome Ceremony will take place on the east side of the Municipal Building at 1:00PM  (See the map below or visit Project911Indianapolis to download a copy).

Once the designated parking areas are full, there will be no other areas to park bikes.  So please plan accordingly.”

The 911 Indianapolis Escort Will Be Comprised of Motorcycles Only

Note:  “After meeting with the public safety agencies in Richmond on Monday, March 13th, and due to safety concerns, we will not be able to accommodate individuals wishing to drive their personal vehicles in the escort ride back to Indianapolis. There is a limited amount of parking available in downtown Richmond. Only motorcyclists, emergency vehicles, and support vehicles will be allowed in the ride. We’re sorry but we cannot accommodate everyone who would like to be in the ride.” (Information from the project911indianapolis.org website).

Note: Although other vehicles will not be allowed in the ride,  everyone is invited to participate in the ceremony and send off of the riders.  Remember to come uptown early–breakfast will be served in several places uptown around 7:30 a.m. (see GoWayneCounty.com article for list of places to eat).
