As we open back up more with local craft shows and open houses for the holidays, there are opportunities to pick up a locally-crafted gift for someone special on your list. But many crafters and artisans have developed easy ways for you to shop local from the comfort of your home, or while on break at work. Read on to find out how….
Mandy Ford: Art & Illustration
Mandy Ford has been producing beautiful print art for years while living in Wayne County. Her unique designs can be found at the Village Forager in Centerville IN, and she has been known to attend craft/art shows locally as well.
In her own words, Mandy describes herself as “(running) on hope & coffee, sometimes in reverse order. I specialize in fresh, whimsical (and sometimes a bit sassy) artwork that encourages your soul to live an authentic, happy life.”
Sounds fun right? AND – It is also easy to order her artistic pieces online through her Etsy shop or her website. (see below)

Aaron Clarke: Clarke Woodworking & Design
Many in the community know Aaron Clarke as a fixture at the Richmond Civic Theatre. His woodworking skills have lent much to the betterment of RCT. But some may not know that Aaron is also a wood crafter and produces lovely items for home and gifts. And you can order those items online!
Aaron’s pieces include beautifully layered and stained cutting boards, coaster sets, an outdoor murphy bar, wood frames, and much more- all at affordable prices.
Aaron also gives back to the community by giving a portion of some of his sales to individual non-profits including Cope Environmental Center and Richmond Civic Theatre as well as Muncie Civic Theatre. So a purchase from Aaron may mean you are supporting a local non-profit as well.
You can order from Aaron by messaging him on Facebook or by visiting his website: Clarke Woodworking & Designs. It’s a great option for a unique gift any time of the year.
