Hagerstown Police Chief Kent Hollenburg Retires
Hagerstown Police Chief Kent Hollenburg retired May 30th, ending his Hagerstown Law Enforcement career of over 30 years… 23 of those years in the position of Chief.
According to excerpts from a story written by Mike Bennett (see story in its entirety posted on the website, Hagerstown.in.gov), Kent started his career with the Hagerstown Police Department in 1981 and became Chief 9 years later.
Kent and his wife Debbie, a teacher at Hagerstown Elementary School, live and have raised their two sons, Derek and Dylan in Hagerstown. Kent was and has always been a very personable, caring, supportive and community conscious gentleman. His easy going personality and professionalism (photo courtesy of Hagerstown website) will be sorely missed among his co-workers. He will be staying around long enough to help the new police chief, Keith Folkner, become familiar with the community, the department and its’ staff as well as the community and city leaders.
