The first Habitat Home in Wayne County to be built outside of Richmond, is breaking ground this weekend in Hagerstown IN.
According to Bob Warner, this Saturday at 3:30 p.m. will be the ground breaking ceremony at 349 N. Elm Street Hagerstown. Following this event, at 5:00 pm., will be the 14th Annual Habitat For Humanity of Greater Richmond meeting at Willie & Reds.
Tickets for the meal are $25.00 and proceeds beyond the cost of the meal will benefit the Habitat home being built in Hagerstown. Mr. Warner added that the evening will also include a silent auction, which will benefit the construction of the home as well.
Work on the house will continue from May through July, 2011 with hopes of being able to give tours of the home during Jubilee Days in August of this year. Volunteers will be needed, so if you want to help build a new home, you can meet at the site on Tuesdays, Thursdays or Saturdays, from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
