Richmond, Indiana – Starr-Gennett Foundation and Richmond Parks and Recreation are excited to announce the 2011 Walk of Fame Music Festival celebrating “Mo’ Blues”.   The September 10 Festival will take place at Whitewater Gorge Park, 201 South 1stStreet in Richmond, Indiana.  The annual Festival highlights Richmond’s legacy as “The Cradle of Recorded Jazz”.

The Music Festival offers a full day of music, arts, family fun, and induction of the two newest artists into the Walk of Fame – Roosevelt Sykes and Bailey’s Lucky Seven.  All daytime events are FREE to the public, thanks to major sponsors such as Richmond Baking, Wayne County Foundation, Earlham College, First Bank Richmond, Reid Hospital, and Mosey Manufacturing.  Numerous other local businesses, individuals, and volunteers also contribute to the celebration.

FREE concerts include the Jonny Hazard Band with Randy Baker, The Groove Doctors, and a Battle of the Blues.  Between the hours of 1:00-5:00 PM, kids will be treated to music, crafts, blow up rides, and their own concert at 4:00 PM.  The ever-popular Rubber Duck Regatta will take place on the Whitewater River at 6:00 PM.  The Legacy Continues Concert begins at 6:30 PM with the final Blues Battle, followed by Governor Davis and the Blues Ambassadors.  The featured performer is Nashville, Tennessee’s Stacy Mitchhart Blues Band.  Tickets for the evening concert are $10 through September 9, $15 at the door.  Students with ID can purchase tickets for $10 and children under 12 are free.
