Are you feeling nostalgic and want to revisit the days of drive-in movies? Well you can. Just about 30 miles from Richmond off of 27 in Winchester IN you can visit one of the longest running Drive-ins in the area.
The Airline Twin Drive-In has been a part of the drive-in movie chain by the same owner for over 52 years. Starting this Friday, June 10th, they will be going into what may be their final season. The chain of drive-ins is also up for sale as the owner will be retiring, but the movies will play as usual all through the summer, 7 days a week.
The drive-in has two screens with each playing a double feature. Cost to get in is 5.00/adult and 2.00/child. Concessions are available or you can bring your own snacks. (Our Uncle Bill used to pop an entire grocery bag of popcorn back when we visited the Bel-Air on Airport Road years ago).
Playing this week are:
- Screen One: Super 8 and Kung Fu Panda 2
- Screen Two: X Men and Pirates Of The Caribbean
The movies are newer releases for you to watch out under the stars. This summer you can plan an inexpensive family outing within 30 miles of Wayne County while taking a trip down memory lane. Box office opens at 8 p.m. (and if you go early you could have a fresh slice of Mrs. Wickes pie in town).
