Hedgehog, Sloth and Serval Oh MY!

Saturday at the Tiernan Center of RHS, kids of all ages enjoyed stations set up to teach them about the earth (Cope Center and Hayes Arboretum) financial responsibility (Lemonade Days) and so many other topics of the earth and good health.

Along with the live marching hand drum band, (see video) the biggest surprise of today for many were the live animals brought by “Animal Magic.”  The crowd was entertained by seeing, up close, fascinating rescued animals, including the largest sloth in the world, and exotic miniature hedge hog and the second fastest animal (cat) in the world a Serval.

Organizations offered demonstrations of solar energy, free trees to plant and so much more.  Even with the disappointment of not being able to swim at the Tiernan pool, the kids left happy and with a lot of knowledge of healthy habits and respect of the earth.
