Dogs of all sizes will fill the park at the Middlefork Reservoir on Saturday, June 23 for Richmond’s first Bark for Life. Check-in begins at 10 a.m. at the reservoir’s Bark Park. Registration for the first dog is $10 and $5 for each dog thereafter. Participants will then partake on foot or paw in the one-mile walk starting at 11 a.m. Money raised from Bark for Life will benefit the 2012 Relay for Life of Wayne County.
Relay for Life and Bark for Life are part of the American Cancer Society outreach to raise awareness and contribute to a cure for cancer. Paws and All will continue the dog-filled day from 12 – 2 p.m. with food and music. There will also be vets and vendors, free samples, pet pictures, demonstrations, doggie contests and more. Admission is free, contest entry is $5. This event is open to all ages. Dog handlers must be 16 or older.
