Getting Ready For the Outdoor Movie

by Karole Passmore, GWC

JUKO continues strong this summer with a field trip to the Starr Gennett Pavillion this Friday for the Starr Gennett Foundation Kid’s Day from 1-4 p.m.  The dress up theme for JUKO on Friday is Cartoon dress up. Kids should be dropped off for JUKO at the field trip site.

Hook A Kid On Fishing

Another fun event this week is “Hook a Kid on Fishing” on Saturday at the old Glen Miller golf course.  From 8:30 to 11:30 there will be a fun adventure for children 12 and under, who will learn the basics of fishing.  Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Coming Soon….Little JUKO

Little JUKO, Summer 2010

It is right around the corner.  If you have a 3-5 year old and would like them to participate you can get a registration form from the JUKO site leaders or the parks department.  The theme this year is All Things Dr. Seuss! The Little JUKO camp runs from August 1-12.  Two sessions will be held, one is at Springwood Park from 9-11:30 and the other is at Mary Scott Park from 12:30 to 3:00 p.m.

Stay tuned for more fun events offered by the Richmond Parks and Recreation Department…including the upcoming Outdoor Concert Series through weekends in August!
