The Cottage Industry Coalition for Historic Buildings

will host the Richmond Tour of Historic Buildings on April 30, 2011 from 12:00 to 4:00, and on May 1, 2011 from 12:00 to 5:00.  In total, 6 historic buildings will participate: The Abram and Agnes Gaar Mansion and Farm Museum; The Martha E. Parry Bed and Breakfast; the Canteberry Salon and Day Spa, The Gennett Mansion, Arden Hearth, and The Olde North Chapel. Tickets are $10 adults, $5 ages 6-18, 5 & under free. Tickets can be purchased in advance and used both dates of the tour.

Martha E. Perry Bed & Breakfast

The group raised $800 during the Holiday Tour this past winter and donated $600 of the proceeds to the Gaar House and Farm for restoration purposes.   Anyone with a historic home or building that would like to participate in the future please call Kris Nelson at 765-977-3959 for more information.

Old North Chapel

The Cottage Industry Coalition for Historic Buildings is a group focused on working with different groups to

  • identify funding sources for new and existing businesses
  • create co-operative marketing initiatives
  • reduce the taxes paid by small businesses
  • promote the preservation of our historic structures
  • thus making Richmond a cottage-industry-friendly city

The group is growing and cost of membership is free.  The group meets once a month for dinner to discuss the issues effecting small mom and pop business.  Anyone interested in joining call Donna Geddes at 765-462-9934.
