Though many people in Wayne County will be traveling to favorite parks and campgrounds for the last summer hoorah, others will stay close to home and have cookouts and family time.  If you are staying in the area this Labor Day weekend here are some fun events for you to check out:

High School Varsity Football Games

Fri, September 3, 7:00p.m..,  Richmond High School will play at home on Lybolt Field. Varsity game Richmond vs. Anderson. Go out and enjoy the game on a nice brisk evening and have a snack at the concession stand.

Lincoln High School Plays Tri High in a home game.  Friday, September 3 in Cambridge City.  Game starts at 7:00 p.m.  Bring a jacket it could be a chilly night–best weather for watching a good game.

Hagertown Tigers will host their varsity game at home against Winchester, Friday September 3, at 7:00 p.m. Good luck to all our Wayne County teams competing on Friday!

Live Music and Ice Cream Social: “Somebody’s Brother”

Fri, September 3, 7pm – 9pm, The Knollenburg Art Center, “Somebody’s Brother” live music and ice cream Social. The Art Center’s normal hours are: Thursday, Friday and Saturday……11am – 6pm, and Sunday…. noon – 5pm They offer: A variety of art: Paintings – Photography – Sculpture – Ceramics – Jewelry – A Gift Shop – and memorabilia from the old Knollenberg’s Department Store uptown Richmond, located next to Blind Ambitions.

Mack’s Place Open Jam Session

Sat, September 4, 4pm – 9pm, come to Mack’s Place in Richmond, Indiana and bring your Instruments. Mack’s Place is located on the corner of South 8th and South F Street in Richmond, Indiana.

Wayne County SWCD Fall Fundraiser

Sun, August 22, 8:00am – Thu, September 9, 4:30pm, 823 S. Round Barn Road

Wayne County Soil and Water Conservation District–Fall fundraiser. SWCD encourages sound conservation practices and helps to fund the educational programs they provide to the public. A variety of trees, shrubs and kiln dried cedar nest boxes and feeders are available for purchase to support the efforts of SWCD. For more information www.waste-not.org

UKC Autumn Oaks Coon Dog Show

At the Wayne County Fairgrounds September 3-5.  For more information contact Tanya Raab at: 269-343-9020.
