Two of Richmond’s finest horseshoe pitchers won their respective class at the Greenville Ringer Classic, in Greenville Ohio, over the 4th of July weekend.

Julia Charlton and Jim Hill, who both pitch in Richmond’s Rose City Horseshoe League, each pitched career best tournaments. Julia captured the Women’s Class B title with 6 wins, 1 loss record and an outstanding 58.5 ringer percentage. Jim was a perfect 7-0 pitching a superb 59.3% taking the Elder Class C title.

Greenville Ringer Classic
Traditionally attracts 200-300 horseshoe pitchers each year from across the US and Canada. This year pitchers came from as far as Las Vegas, NV.

Fifteen-time World Champion Alan Francis, Defiance OH, took the Mens Class A Championship, averaging an incredible 88.5% going 9-0 in that top group. Rivers Prewette from Eden, NC defeated two former World Womens Champions enroute to her first Ringer Classic Women’s championship title. Current Elders World Champion, Hershel Walters, Bourbon IN, took the Elders Class A and Gavin Kahrig, Woodsfield, OH pitched 66.7% to take the Junior crown.
Julia Charlton will be in a New Castle tournament this weekend. Jim Hill will be competing in the World Tournament in Cedar Rapids Iowa later this month. Good Luck Jim and Julia and congratulations!
