  • Halloween Events In Wayne County October 31
October 29, 2014

haunted houseThis is perhaps scheduled to be the busiest Halloween day on record!  It probably helps that the 31st falls on a Friday this year, but regardless the reason for the heightened festivities, events will be happening all over Wayne County.

Along with all the regular Wayne County trick or treat schedules, in Cambridge City there will be a Halloween party at the “Stage Door” with games, snacks, face painting and more — from 8 p.m to midnight.  Cost is 3.00 in costumes or 5.00/person without a costume.  (this is a hint to wear a costume)

Also in Cambridge City there will be a Trunk or Treat at the Cambridge City Christian Church, from 6-8 p.m. on Church and Foote Street.  Prizes, treats, candy and more will be the safe alternative for kids at this site.

Centerville Elementary will be home to the annual Lions Club Halloween party in the gym with games, prizes and more, during trick or treat hours on Friday, October 31.

In Richmond, the annual Halloween Cancer walk will be taking place with sign up at 6:00 p.m. at the American Legion Post 65.  The walk starts at 7:00 and is 10.00 per walker. All proceeds will go towards Cancer aid and research.

There are other trunk or treat events at area churches in Richmond, including the Presbyterian Church on A Street, during trick or treat hours. (if you have an event to share, please comment below).

Safety tips:

  • Please watch out for the little ghouls as they cross streets
  • Add reflective tape to your kids costumes
  • Check all candy before letting your child dive in
  • Have kids stay on sidewalks whenever possible
  • If you are giving out non-food treats, please post a sign so families know that their kids with allergies can also enjoy a treat
  • Only go to houses with a front porch light on
  • Make sure an adult or older child is with young children
  • Make sure kids have a clear view of the ground from their mask/costume

Have a safe & Happy Halloween!
