  • Final Home Game Of Richmond RiverRats Season Plays To Packed Stadium
August 8, 2011
Rivie entertains the crowd

Excitement was in the air as hundreds of people lined the streets with cars and walked to the final home game of the season, packing the stadium. (See video below)

Some said as they enjoyed the game that they had intended to go all summer and didn’t realize that the final game was here so soon.  And what a game to end the season at home.  After going into an extra inning the RiverRats won it all with bases loaded and scoring a run to win the night.

The crowd cheered for the victory, but the excitement didn’t end there.  Several host families were honored for their efforts this summer in housing and caring for one or more players.

Finally came the fireworks and they were awesome!  Gleeful cheers could be heard from children all over the stadium (young and old) who were astonished by the display both in brightness and the overpowering force.  Just as they seemed to end another round would go up to the amazement of all present.

What a great season!  We are proud to have the RiverRats as our home team. Season tickets are already on sale for next year- so plan ahead to see exciting baseball played right in our own backyard.
