
If you are one of the numerous fans of the work of Maya Angelou, which includes : actress, professor, author of “I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings” and her masterful poetry, you will want to get in line for tickets. Sought after for many years by the Earlham Events Department, including Lynn Knight, it is a wonderful accomplishment for Earlham to be bringing Dr. Angelou to the campus.
The following is bio information excerpted from the Earlham Events calendar for 2011:
Dr. Maya Angelou is a remarkable Renaissance woman who is hailed as one of the great voices of contemporary literature. As a poet, educator, historian, best-selling author, actress, playwright, civil rights activist, producer and director, she continues to travel the world, spreading her legendary wisdom. Within the rhythm of her poetry and elegance of her prose lies Angelou’s unique power to help readers span the lines of race. The event is sponsored by the Events Committee and the Program Board.

Ticket/Registration Information: Tickets are required and cost $10 for adults and $8 for students and seniors. Tickets will be available beginning August 1.
