Update: The opening of the Splash Pad at Glen Miller has been postponed due to the excess of rain this past week. It will open officially in about a week- check the Richmond Parks and Recreation Facebook site for the official opening date.
How about trying out the new Splash Pad at Glen Miller Park? According to the Visitors Bureau, the Splash Pad will be opening this weekend:
“Come out for a great Memorial Day weekend at Glen Miller Park with the Grand Opening of their new Splash Pad! The Splash Pad is an area equipped with a unique water sprinkler system that sprays water and will cool you down on even the hottest summer day! The Splash Pad is open to the public and best of all absolutely FREE! Adult supervision is required.” (Richmond/Wayne County Visitors Bureau).
Also coming this weekend: The Cordell Municipal Pool in Richmond will be opening and of course the running of the 100th Indianapolis 500. (My favorite thing to do as a young teen was to lay beside the pool and listen to the race on the radio, of course now you can get updates on Facebook and see pictures posted by friends).
