About Us

Special Olympics Indiana is a not-for-profit organization that provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in more than 20 Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, reaching nearly 11,000 athletes across Indiana. Special Olympics Indiana is part of the international network of accredited Special Olympics Programs that reaches more than 2.5 million athletes with intellectual disabilities worldwide.

Our local mission is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Through training and competition opportunities, athletes will experience growth in physical skills, a sense of accomplishment, socialization, friendship, and a connection with the community.

Fresh Start Housing is helping aged out foster youths, displaced impoverished youths to include young adults with mental health issues by providing meaningful benefits and services that help them grow up confident, healthy and educated. Fresh Start Housing, offers youths with long-range goals the opportunity to live in a communal setting for up to 4 years. The ultimate goal is for our residents to develop valuable life skills while transitioning to self-sufficiency and establishing personal objectives for their future. It is the expectation of Fresh Start Housing that residents will become self-sufficient and move on to other housing arrangements within 4 years.
